جمع اسماعيل اللواتي في مسيرته بين العديد من اختصاصات السينما، فقد اشتغل كمصور ثم مهندس صوت كما اشتغل في التركيب وكتابة السيناريو وقام بانتاج واخراج ما يقارب عشرين عمل مابين  تنصيبات وفيديو وأفلام. هو مخرج "بابيلون" الحائز على الجائزة الكبرى "فيد مرسيليا" في فرنسا وهو أحد منتجي شريط "آخر واحد فينا" للمخرج علاء الدين سليم والحائز على "أسد المستقبل" في مهرجان البندقية سنة 2016. وهو كذلك فنان تشكيلي، وقد عرضت أعماله في "موما" MoMa بنيويورك وبمعهد الفن المعاصر بلندن وبفضاء Belle friche de Mai "بال فريش دو ماي" بمرسيليا وبتلمارت غاليري Talmart Gallery بباريس و أيضا بالسينيماتاك ناسيونال بالمكسيك.

Ismaël a travaillé comme caméraman, enregistreur sonore, monteur, scénariste, producteur et réalisateur sur une vingtaine de vidéos d'art, d'installations vidéo et de films. Il est le réalisateur de Babylon, vainqueur en 2012 du Grand Prix au FID Marseille (France) et producteur de The last of us, vainqueur en 2016 du Lion of the Futur au Festival de Venise (Italie). Il est également artiste visuel et écrivain. Ses différentes œuvres ont été projetées et exposées au MoMA (New York), à l’Institut d’Art Contemporain (Londres), à La Friche Belle de Mai (Marseille), à la Talmart Gallery (Paris) et à la Cinémathèque Nationale (Mexique).

Ismael has worked as a cameraman, sound recorder, editor, writer, producer and director in over twenty art videos, video installations and films.
